I'll never ever bash a game like this Mega Man 8 FC because a) it's a fan game and b) Mend had never ever the budget Capcom had for Mega Man. A 8-bit fangame which is a demake of the same game this OT was about before folks were bringing the Mega Man 9 'guns' here. If you like 8-bit Mega Man then I'd suggest you also play (if you haven't) Mega Man 8 FC. They could have done better, but they didn't and the nostalgia graphics will be always the excuse some Mega Man fans will use to defend those games (9 and 10) to the death and treat 9 like it was the second coming too the classic Mega Man Franchise. And the team behind Megaman 9 and 10 which is also Capcom (not only Int Creates) had better sprite sheets to reuse if they didn't want to spend too many on the graphics department. It's not because it's just old, it's 8-bit. As such, one of the factors that is the most indicative of the overall quality of a Mega Man game is the quality of the set of robot master weapons in that game. It's basically one of the main draws of the game to me. One of the aspects that has defined Mega Man the most since its inception is how he acquires the weapons of the bosses that he defeats. I hated it in MM4 because it drowned out the music in a series where music was a huge draw, and I grew to hate it more in later games because it de-emphasized the defining aspect of the games boss weapons more frequently came across as gimmicks of niche use and the player was expected to lean on the normal shot more often. The charged Mega Buster is my least favorite mainstay game mechanic of the whole series. The weapon set is phenomenal (almost all of them are useful, and in different ways too) and Mega Man's base abilities are stripped back, which encourages more use of the boss weapons.
